Mercy Bar Addison Texas

Filed under: podcasts — Administrator @ 2:24 pm

I did this interview for the CBS contest to get press credentials and I did not win. This longer version was edited by Mike at Podshack.com This is one of his best jobs yet.
Interview with Glen Agritelley owner of my favorite bar “Mercy” in Addison Texas. Glen describes the set up for this one of a kind lounge. Heavy thick velvet curtains greet you at the door. Shears (inspired by The Delano in Miami) separate the dining area for private parties. and a private lounge experiences. Custom Iron work and a chandelier resembling the ones at the Buddha Bar in Paris hangs over a dark oak table. Painting of Venus on the half shell taken from a painting in Pompeii Italy. 750 bottles of wine are stored behind the scalloped bar (inspired by a bar called “The Boundary in Memphis). A nitrogen based couvia system allows you to enjoy expensive wine by the glass. Glen also talks about his friend Bucky Barret who was his lead guitar player in the 80’s for Roy Orbison and the largest private collection of memorabilia in the world. How did “Mercy” get its name? Recording with Scotty Moore from Elvis’s band DJ Fontana The Jordinières and the rhythm section all together. The show ends with a song show time about 15min. **If you go to Mercy tell em you heard it on this Podcast**

Last week I went to the Value Rich Small Cap conference in NYC. I interviewed CEO’s for Streetiq.com. I learned so many out of the ordinary stories about theses companies. The party started at the “W” on Times Square then we got a big black limo over to “Club Pressure” The music was provided by thtubetv.com and the drinks were free. I had fun like I always do in the Big Apple. Show time about 14min Coming up this week an interview with Gene Simmons from Kiss. He was at the conference.

New Orleans Krewe Kast

Filed under: podcasts — Administrator @ 6:47 pm

Today I read from a Wall Journal Article that gives an interesting take on what might be going on in New Orleans. Prominent “big easy” business leaders met here in Dallas to discuss how to divide up the Crescent city and rebuild it differently. Demographically, Geographically and Politically. Before the flood the city was poor burdened by the underclass bad schools and high crime. Thomas Westfeldt New Orleans Board of Trade. Richard Freeman city’s Coco-Cola bottling plant. William Boatner Reily coffee owner and James Reiss the benefactors met with Mayor Roy Nagin here in Dallas to cut up the king kake. Mr Reiss helicoptered in an Israeli security company to guard Audubon Place. He says the city must do something different and to attract more corporate head-quarters with better services and fewer poor people. Is Nagin the Mayor nimble enough to hold on to power if his voting block is living all over Texas? Or will he start to want for refugees to go back to the “big easy” Speaking of “big easy” Shelia Jackson Lee said that many of the people that stayed behind in the storm might have been waiting for the first of the month when Government Assistance checks are issued ( remember Katrina hit on the 29th). Will New Orleans turn Republican from a Democratic stronghold? Keep talking about the FEMA deer Mike Brown that was picked out of the herd. Ha! Show time about 15min

Watch the Tram Car please.

Filed under: podcasts — Administrator @ 9:13 pm

I went to the boardwalk in Wildwood New Jersey today. I start off at the “Whack the Iraqi” booth that was renamed to “Fight the Insurgent” this year, It’s a sound seeing tour of the boardwalk in Wildwood New Jersey. I meet Vito and his boys from South Phila and ask about one of there female hoe escapades this summer. I interview a bunch of people on the last day of summer. Take a walk up to the water park. Tried to get a bunch of seashore boardwalk sounds. I spoof for the first time using the MTV mic flag that I bought off Ebay. Perfect place for this type of experiment. One kid actually told me to say hi to Kurt Lodder. Met a guy with a snake and a 17 year old that did the deed after getting drunk. The younger generations continue to re-invent summer.
Line from a 11 year old. “We will keep coming here till we get older” Some other surprises and a piece of pizza from Mack’s on a beautiful last day of summer. Show time about 21 min

American Refugee

Filed under: podcasts — Administrator @ 9:08 am

The picture of the day is some American Refugees on a bus to Dallas. My new neighbors. Looking at the craiglist.org and saw some interesting posts by people that are willing to take in people from Hurricane Katrina. I see a little profiling going on and why not? Everyone does it. Pagan Friendly Family/Lesbian friendly/ Friend of Bill W/ No Drugs-No Animals/ Law student only/No teenage boys/Rainbow Flag flying/Temp housing 1 month till you get on your feet.. Looking for jazz piano player that cooks Cajun food and can work on house. Looking for crack smoker that stays up all night that drinks and smokes looking to get back in the swing of things. Kanye West does not care about his white master over at MSNBC. Great show but only two performers needed to show up. Harry Connick and Aaron Neville who sang Louisiana 1927 by Randy Newman. Forgot to mention Missy Elliot’s call for plus size cloths. Brilliant I rant in jest and play a song show time about 15min.
