Murdoch verses BBC and podcasting
On Monday two stories hit my radar. First was a Financial Times article on the BBC and the second was the Annual Stationers Hall London lecture keynote given by Rupert Murdoch Chairman of News Corp [NWS] I think the two events are tied together. Listen to parts of the speech that is prophetic and informative. Murdoch comments on the new media and how old media need to change including his company. Sited in History King Charles II 1670 and Phillip Carteret Governor of East New Jersey in 1674 who originally tried to enforce payments to the crown causing an uprising and local rebellion 100 years before 1776. Murdoch comments on podcasting and his recent purchase of Myspace for 600 million dollars only 2years ago This Podcast is part of my Executive Lounge Series at streetiq. Who better to ask for comments on this then Larry Kudlow from CNBC…He gave me this comment:
“Rupert has nailed it. The new media, including online news, blogging, podcasting and other delivery forms, provides enormous choice to all news and opinion consumers, and hence will make our national issues debate and our great democracy even healthier.” -Larry Kudlow

This is absolutely my favorite. I don’t really know why. Very interesting but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Oh wait, I did that this morning!
